Optus Satellite was using ServiceNow as it’s Business and Operations Support System (BSS & OSS). This platform was hosted On-Premise preventing adoption of new capabilities like Machine learning & AI, Industry benchmarking. And incurs additional costs over utilising the ServiceNow hosted instance. This On-premise instance has no disaster recovery (DR) capability. With increased competition, at Optus Satellite we need to ensure we support our customers with a system that is rapid, have automation in terms of machine learning & AI capabilities and provides a low cost user experience with high availability and DR capabilities.
Problem: Unable to take advantage of benchmarking and Artificial Intelligence & Additional overheads/costs to manage On-premise instance in terms of System Admin, Rack space, electricity and air conditioning.
Solution: Migrated to ASD approved Cloud
