Optus Satellite was using ServiceNow as it’s Business and Operations Support System (BSS and OSS). This platform was hosted on-premise preventing adoption of new capabilities like machine learning, artifical intelligence (AI), and industry benchmarking. It also incurs additional costs over utilising the ServiceNow hosted instance. This on-premise instance has no disaster recovery (DR) capability. With increased competition, at Optus Satellite we need to ensure we support our customers with a system that is rapid, has automation in terms of machine learning and AI capabilities, and provides a low cost user experience with high availability and DR capabilities.

Problem: Unable to take advantage of benchmarking, AI and additional overhead costs, to manage on-premise instance in terms of System Admin, rack space, electricity and air conditioning.

Solution: Migrated to ASD approved Cloud

Benefits: Machine learning and AI capabilities, significant savings on additional cost of infrastructure ownership, DR, improved operational efficiencies, customer experience and CSI
