University of Toronto Mississauga's classroom-technology/audio-visual (AV) support team owns and manages hundreds of equipment that constantly move around the campus to support teaching, administrative, and conference activities, for a campus with 14,000+ undergrads, 700+ graduate students, and 3,000+ full- and part-time employees. In November 2018, UTM deployed a solution, built in ServiceNow with integration to asset management and CMDB, to track these equipment more effectively.
In this session, UTM will share how we improved tracking of our numerous AV equipment using Asset Management, CMDB, and a custom application which allows fulfillers to scan equipment in and out using QR codes.
